UPDATE 3/27/18: For any other Nikon D3400 users who stumble across this post, the bad news is that the combo of Mac (specifically with High Sierra, 10.13.3) and the D3400 is a bugger. Shoot tethered with the Nikon D850 using our TetherPro USB 3. Since the camera doesn't have WiFi, remote shooting through SnapShot isn't an option either. The one option is to download Nikon NX-I to and Capture NX-D, both of which are of course.

Being able to costume up and take silly reference photos of myself sounds wicked invaluable, however after some time spent searching I've discovered that the D3400 isn't supported anywere (just one example). Search: Nikon D750 Wifi Tethering Lightroom. I am an amateur illustrator who purchased a D3400 (because it was cheap) to start taking good reference and just discovered the concept of tethering.
